Not a snowball's chance in hell...

That I'm gonna get any rain. :)

I took the top 2 pics on the 4th of July weekend...

This is a pic of My Favorite (and only) Rose Bush , earlier this spring...

and a pic of the rose bush today. The grasshoppers have stripped it bare...

The yard is crunchy and brown...

and the pastures need moisture...

I remind myself that things could always be worse. :)

I did have a good time over the 4th of July with
my snowballs from February

I saved three of the snowballs back to make a Snowgirl...

she looks just like me, green eyes and all. lol

lol Yeah I probably should have just thrown the whole bag of snowballs at friends. :)

I like your little snow girl. :)
We had less than half an inch of rain last night. We're down more than 12 inches for the month.
And no rain where it was needed for the forest fire.
Sorry about your rose bush. ♥

It's really weird how the the weather is so different everywhere. We have been getting way too much rain lately. I have mushrooms that look like cow patties up here and I'm watching the creek banks slowly wash away. Too bad things could'nt even out just a bit. Cute little snow girl Jeanie. lol. Sure hope you get some rain soon.

WOW! Jeanie
It sure is dry out your way. Will you have to feed the cattle because of the lack of pasture?
Snowgirls sure don't last long on a HOT patio? :)
You and Adolph will just have to stay in the shade.....:)

Thanks Linda! :) Sorry to hear your area is so dry too. If I get any extra rain I'll be sure to send it your way.
Loved the flowers in your last post! :)

Thanks so much Hunters Wife! I appreciate you stopping by too. :)

Mark it is weird isn't it. I hope you and Traction don't wash away. Are your mushrooms edible? That would be nice!
Thanks about my snowgirl too. :)

Hey Rick, it's getting crunchy around here. The wind is so hot too. I need to keep rocks in my pockets so I won't blow away like a tumble weed. :)
I'm fine but many ranchers have already sold off cattle to be able to feed the rest. There isn't a round bale to be had for miles either.
I have a couple held back for emergency but shouldn't have to use them.

The little snowgirl didn't last long at all! I thought she would melt while I tried to light the sparklers in the wind. lol

Thanks Rick, Hope you keep cool too!

That shure looks nasty. I am sure the white little girl brightened up your day, among those gloomy shades of brown.

Looks like you are in the clear spot between the cooler rainy areas from Vancouver down to Colorado, and the East Coast: http://nos.nl/video/256208-weerbericht-noord-en-zuidamerika-14-juli-2011.html

We have had 50 milimeter of rain today (two inches). Problem is the wind, not so much the 18 miles an hour average but the 40-50 miles an hour gusts.

Some people just got too much rain:

Better though than May/early June when Holland was the hottest place in Europe, and we had a drought.

Wouldn't trade you weather Jeanie, as the Dutch saying goes 'van ruilen komt huilen' (swapping leads to tears), I would die in that heat.

Donald your area looks so pretty.. nice and green and lush. I would love to see it someday. :)

I need to figure out a way to catch all these grasshoppers, cook them with this dry hot wind... and then learn how to like them. lol

At least my chickens are eating well. :)
Thanks Donald!

Capital idea, saving the snowballs from February for some 4th of July fun!
Doing a rain dance in my head for ya this morning!

From what I know deepfried (in batter) is the traditional way to cook grasshoppers and comparable insects, high in proteine, and really crunchy. Would never try it though;-), a real wuss, lol.

Thanks Joe! :)
The snowballs are fun, they almost turn to ice balls in the freezer though....and they kinda hurt when you get hit by one. lol
Thanks for the rain dance.. I appreciate it. :)

I'm not sure if I would try the hoppers either..I guess if I were hungry I would.
I'm a wuss too. :)
Thanks..

I immensely enjoyed your little self portrait done in snowballs. I must admit I did not realize you had a carrot for a nose!
But i see over all you captured the essence of you 'sparklin' [personality.

I can send you some of the rain from here in Washington I don`t think I`ll get a summer here this year. But at least it is lush and green.
