Memphis Pro Wood Fired Grill

I have a new Memphis Pro wood fired grill and am so anxious to try it out!
As an avid outdoor cook, I am fairly experienced with the use of an open fire for cooking, gas and charcoal units, vertical smokers, horizontal wood burners, underground and cinderblock pits, tractor rim fire ring cooking and also cold smoking in my smokehouse.... and now... my adventure with wood pellet grilling begins! :)

The Memphis Pro has the capability of low smoking at a temperature of 180F or searing meat over a 660 degree F high heat! As an added feature, the Memphis Pro also performs like a convection oven.

It sounds like my dream unit! :)

I will be able to bake bread and pies on this baby... slow smoke ribs, briskets and seafood.... my mind is reeling with the possibilities!

If you get the time, check out the Hearthland site... their grills are amazing....

Also, if you are interested in purchasing a Memphis Pro, my Smokin' Pal at Big Poppa Smokers will be happy to help you out!

I hope to get the Memphis fired up this weekend.. it's hard to decide what I want to try cooking on it first.

A big Thanks to Heartland Wood Fired Grills and to Big Poppa Smokers! Can't wait to see what this unit will do. :)

The Memphis Pro was so easy for me to handle.. it arrived with everything included in one box..

I was able to open the box and roll the unit out with no problem at all....

Grill grates and side shelves were packed neatly inside...

The Memphis Pro has three levels of removable grates... a flavorizor bar.

The pellet hopper in the back automatically feeds pellets to the burner...

Each side shelf is attached with 4 sets of bolts and nuts...

They were very easy for me to handle and attach.

The control panel on the left side table....

I did get a few finger prints on the Pro while assembling but have since polished them off with a soft cloth.. lol

I'm sure my other smokers are feeling neglected right now. I'm making a special place on my patio for this one... :)

I went to their sites and it looks like a serious cooking machine - and I know you need another cooker. Looking forward to seeing what you turn out on it.

Good for you Jeanie. I looked at those before I bought the Napoleon, but decided that I needed to master the drum before I started anything new. Going to do a roast in the drum on Sunday (if it don't rain again...) It will be summer soon. It will be fun to see what kind of "stuff" ya can do with the "pellet pooper"
Have fun :)

lol Big Dude, That's exactly what I heard while the Memphis Pro was being unloaded on my patio... "looks like you need another cooker". :)

This will be my last one.

I'll definately post pics of the grill in action.
Thanks Larry!

Let the games begin!!! I bet there's a flurry of activity between your kitchen and your new toy. We'll benefit from the recipes I'm sure.

I'll keep ya posted on how it goes. :)

Looks nice!
Just please remember to keep your wood pellets stored far away from any rabbit hutches. Would hate for any confusion to ensue.

Whoa Jeanie! That thing's pretty darned shiny looking. It's almost like cheating is'nt it? I've never even heard of a pellet fired bbq before. So long, meat on a stick. Actually, I like it Jeanie, I can hardly wait to see it in action.

cowgirl said...

lol Marc, I'll remember to do that.
Thanks!

lol Mark, I'll still be making meat on a stick when camping. :)

This grill is so nice.... I can't wait to see what it will do.
I'm also thinking it's going to be nice for baking this summer. I won't be heating up the house with my oven.. I can do it all outside.:)
Thanks Mark!

Love the new wood pellet grill!!!

For me the choice of what to make first would be simple, especially if you have a pizza stone that will fit in the new grill: a wood-fired pizza with some pepperoni, salami chunks, onion, green pepper, mushrooms and black olives, covered in melted provolone. If that's too simple, how about a wood fired pizza with prosciutto, figs and provolone?

The Mrs. has a wonderful pizza dough recipe that we have been using reliably for years, if you need one.

Your pizza sounds wonderful, I'd love to have Mrs JP's recipe if she would care to share it.

Howdy neighbor. Long time no see. I see you have a new toy and have broken it in right. Did I also see a SFB smoker similar to a SNP? I finally got my barrel burnt out and am in the cleaning/painting stage now. Hopefully it will end up half as nice as yours. ;)

Miss you.

SG! How in the heck have you been? It's good to see ya. :)
I do have a little vertical Brinkman that I've not used since building the drum.
It sounds like you are almost ready to fire your drum up.. Hope you take pictures or at least keep me posted on how it goes.

I'm having fun with this Memphis Pro... it can do anything. lol

So good to see you, I miss you too!

Thanks for stopping by...
