The weather was beautiful!
The tall grass to my left....
My little grass free fishin' spot....
I let my hair down, plugged in my tunes.....
Everything was going great, then I opened the box of killer worms....
They are monsters! Nothing like my little homegrown garden variety worms.
I managed to get one on my hook with just a few whimpers......... (from my own lips).
My incaseIfallinthelake grungy fishin' sneakers ready for action....
I enjoyed the evening.....
The full moon was amazing...... :)

Looks like an excellent place to park for awhile Jeanie. Although I would have those sneakers warmed up and ready incase that worm comes back up the line. He does have some resemblance of an anaconda and I don't imagine he is very happy with you at the momment. lol. Glad you had a good time Jeanie, did you catch any fish?
lol Mark! If I would have thought about that worm crawling back up my line in the dark, I might have dropped my pole and ran. lol
I did catch some fish Mark, about 15 or so keepers. Not many for the whole weekend but I'm happy. :)
Hope you had a great weekend too!
Thanks Mark!

Thank you Diane, it was a fun weekend! :)
CW....LOL!
Gene, It was a lot of fun. I can't wait to go again. :) Maybe I should take a trampoline with me next time. lol
So....didja catch anything? I wanna see what kind of fish eats a worm that big:)
I did catch some Chris! lol I think the worms were grabbing the fish by the neck and sticking them on my hook!
They were pretty mean worms. lol
Thanks for posting the smoked catfish and shrimp recipes! I noticed you raise pond shrimp too. We will be harvesting our shrimp in about two weeks.

Hey Greg, that's great! Aren't they fun to raise? :)
I've really enjoyed them. Looks like you have a nice operation going.
Good luck with your harvest!
Thanks for checking out my blog too. :)

The farm keeps us busy. Love your recipes. Wow, fish tacos too!
Greg
Thanks Greg!
I bet the farm does keep you busy. Do you raise your own juveniles for stocking too?
The smoked or grilled fish tacos are one of my favorites. If you try them...make sure you give that chipotle slaw a try too. It really adds a nice kick! :)
Thanks Greg! :)
Jeanie:
We get our post larval shrimp from Harlingen Shrimp Farm in Harligen, TX. We acclimate them to our water salinity which is brackish well water. They are actually saltwater prawns (Litopenaeus vannamei). Funny how both catfish and saltwater prawns do well in the same kind of water (different ponds though, otherwise the catfish would have prawns for dinner instead of us :)
Greg
That is great Greg!
I get mine from Texas too. I stock the juveniles that have already been introduced to fresh water. They are from 30 to 60 days old. It gives me a head jump on size.
I'd like to hatch my own...maybe some day I will convert a building or something here on the farm for a hatchery.
I imagine your catfish are tasty too! You have it made Greg! :)
