More venison from this season's hunt...
I placed slivers of garlic in the meat and marinaded overnight with a mixture of Moore's marinade, onions, jalapenos and rosemary.....
then draped with bacon and into the drum with some mesquite.....
added onions in butter, jalapenos....and some spam. :)
heated my tortillas in the drum...
set up my fancy serving table......
Everyone whittled off slices of smoked venison, wrapped them in hot tortillas, drank a few cold beers and watched the sun set.
I love dining out. :)
It was a nice evening!

Hey just what you do in Key West except the whole cooking bambie thing,oh yea and that whole bit bout being cold... But the beer and sunsets they do... Happy Holidays. Your bestus fan, BUDDY.
very beautiful sunset miss jeanie .. . the food and presentation, as always, look wonderful!
I recognize that fancy serving table of yours ... I think it is that homemade gas burner of yours, but then again I could be wrong.
You got my mouth watering on that one Jeanie. And then you rode of into the sunset. Pretty as a picture.
once again that all looks very good! i tried that smoked spam a while back, good stuff.

Gary and Linda

bye greetings from Holland!
Hanneke
Now that's treatin' a deer right. A 5 star presentation!
Thanks Chris! It did get cold as the sun slipped away. lol I think it was 40 degrees when we started eating so that wasn't too bad. :)
Thanks Chris!
lol Buddy! You have it made. :)
Thanks!
Thank you Marc! You're right..that is one of my cookers. :)
Real fancy huh? :)
I'm still enjoying the maggi cubes...thanks again for sending them!!
Mark, thanks!! The venison was pretty tasty. I like it marinaded overrnight.
Hope you are keeping warm up there!
Thanks pid! Glad the spam worked out well for you. I never used to eat it but I love it smoked with the brown sugar/cayenne mix on top. :)
Thank you Gary and Linda! It's nice to "meet" you! I appreciate you stopping by. :)
Hi Hanneke! This was the first time I've tried Moore's. Here is a bit about it.
http://www.mooresmarinade.com/
I used the original kind on this shoulder. I liked it fine! Will probably use it again. :)
Good to see you and thanks for stopping by!
Thank you Rawtalent!! It was kinda tasty. :)
That looks really terrific! That's the motivation I need to go out in the cold and get a deer.
How many people were you cooking for?
(sorry if you get multiple comments from me... my browser flipped out.)
Very nice Jeanie. From the shoulder, to that "fancy serving table" and on to the sunset. Food, friends and a scenic sunset, does it get much better?
The moore's is good stuff especially on wild game. When I make deer jerky I will use that or dale's marinade and some hot pepper flakes. Im gonna be doing my annual apple smoked turkey and boston butt for xmas dinner.I will take a few pics of them for ya.
Thank you Fr Spike! Hope you are doing well and keeping warm this winter!
There were four of us. I did have leftover venison and enjoyed a fajita for breakfast the next morning. :)
Thank you David! If you lived closer I would have given you a hollar. :)
Thanks Pete! I had not tried the Moores before but like the Dales.
I've also not tried Moore's in my venison marinade. I'll give it a go. :)
Your Christmas dinner sounds great! Looking forward to seeing the pics. :)
Thanks!
Your blog keeps me from going back to being a vegetarian!
Now, that is what you call a buffet! This is so delicious! I am drooling over the photos! It makes me want to make some for myself!
lol Cowgirl Goods, Thanks! I'm glad to hear that! :)
Thank you Solid Wood!! Hope you give it a try sometime. It's sure easier to smoke a venison shoulder whole than it is to cut it up. :)
Let me know if you smoke one. :)
Wow that looks great Jeanie. What a great cookout. Glad your doing well.
Keith(aka Kingudaroad)
