Brrrrrrrr :)

The gas well that provides heat to my farm developed a problem today.
Reminded me of the cold spell last winter when the heat was out for three weeks!
With a low of 6 degrees F predicted for tonight, I was happy to hear it was nothing major this time. :)

Hope everyone stays warm this winter!

is it free?

I can see where you might get a little paranoid Jeanie. You've had some pretty cold weather lately. I'm kinda concerned myself. They're forcasting highs of -36c/-32F and lows of -41C/-42F for Sunday. That should put things to the test out here if they're right.

Yes Rocco, The gas for my farm comes from a gas well. Back when the well was drilled, the well owner had to supply the primary house on this section (640 acres) of land with free gas.

My house is the ONLY house on this section of land sooooo I get free gas.
I'm not sure if drilling companies do this anymore but I was one of the lucky ones and this is how the place was set up when I bought it. :)

We have a lot of neighbors around here that have gas wells - pretty typical in our area! Our house is heated by a wood stove :) It was about 12° last night, but it was toasty warm in the house!!

Hi Sara,
I don't have neighbors around here or many trees. I guess I could go back to burning dried cow patties though. lol
