Reaching the party involves driving down several dirt roads until you come to a farm field, cut across the field via a small trail, wind down through a few sage brush and yucca plants, then drive over a small hill until you see the creek...
Follow the creek for about 1/2 mile and you're there. :)

I left my camera in my pickup and walked the rest of the way to the party... A pig was roasted, several more pork shoulders were smoked, there were dutch ovens full of beans, potatoes and cobblers... tons of corn on the cob....
The creek provided fishing and swimming, some folks pitched horse shoes, others spun tall tales.
I ate too much, drank plenty and laughed til my cheeks hurt.
Can't wait til the next gathering. :)

Sounds like a heck of a bash Jeanie. Looks a like an interesting and scenic drive to get there. It's beautiful country.
Sheesh.. Couldn't ya have just taken a bus? ROTFLMbO SORRY ..a little city humor. Sounds like a great time. Food was probably great,drinks were cold,bonfire was huge and my invite got lost in the mail.. Again.lol

It really is pretty down here in it's own way. Some folks do not care for the open country, sage and yucca, but I can see the beauty in it.
The bash was fun. I'm looking forward to the next one. :)

The food and drinks were great! Also the bonfire and story telling. Not sure what happened to your invite, must have gotten lost again! Darned mail. lol
