Blooming Yucca

I went for a short drive, looking for yucca in bloom.
These are in front of my house... the view from my porch.

This is the pasture on the south side of my house....

On down the road a short bit I hit the jackpot....

Bloomin' yucca as far as the eye could see. :)

I love this time of the year!

Thank you Gene!
I really love it out here. It might be in the middle of nowhere, but that seems to suit me just fine. :)

Thank you Susan!
The sweetness of the air is really amazing. The wild flowers, sage and yucca smell so wonderful. :)

Wow, Jeanie your view is amazing!!
I bet on an early morning walk with a little dew on the ground the smell has to be indescribable.

OTT, it IS indescribable. The smell of the wild flowers mixed with the sage and yucca. It really is almost intoxicating. :)
Maybe I'm just susceptible to it. lol

Thank you Mrs JP, I enjoy sitting on my front porch and watching pasture change colors when the sun sets. It's nice. :)

Thank you Mark!
I see a lot of deer and quail from my front porch.
I like to keep an eye on the sandhill plums in the pasture.... they should be turning red in a month or so. :)

Someday your front porch view will be a whole lot better! lol

Hi Jeanie! Been trying to get caught up on your blog. I love this last picture (well, I love them all).

I was wondering...what part of the yucca do you harvest and eat? Or is it a different type of yucca that you eat?

Hi Becky, it's good to see you! I enjoyed looking at your Spain trip pictures, they were great!

The yucca I cook isn't this variety. They grow farther south.
I believe the roots of these plants are used for soap though.

Thanks!

Makes me wonder what I could do with the yucca that grows around here :-)

Becky, if you come up with a use for them, let me know. I might be able to use these too. :)
