Taking the weekend off for a quick trip to Rocky Ford Colorado. It's tempting to head on into the mountains where it's cool and stay for a week or two.... but then I might not want to come home. :)
For those friends who will be fishing this weekend.. take pics please. I want to hear all about the monsterfrankenfish you catch! :)
Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Guess you long for the prairie to turn white;-).

A road trip sounds like fun. I need to get a new motor in the truck. The Olds just won't travel the kind of roads I like to take. Punched up Rocky Ford, looks like you'll get the veggies your looking for. I can feel your gardener's pain, this desert I've been living in makes growing things real tough. Anyways, hope you had a good trip. Another Chris
How far away is Rocky Ford? I hope ya had a great trip, found some cooler weather, and got lots of fresh veggies....
Keep an eye open for my patio pic's....soon. Finished power washing the concrete and just have to primer and paint the posts, I'll start on those today...
See ya
Go north young lady, further north. Hope you have a good one Jeanie.
Thanks so much Linda, Glad to see you made it home safe. :)
Thanks Dave! I took a few pics but nothing exciting. lol Didn't get up into the mountains but it was nice and green there. Hope you had a great weekend too!
Hey Jay! I should have headed north to see you. I did pick up a box of those Colorado peaches...you're right, they are sooooo tasty. :)
Thanks Jay!
Hi Donald! :)
I am ready for cool weather and moisture.. Rain would be nice but I'll take snow. :)
Thanks!
Hi Chris.. It's nice to meet you! :)
Sounds like you have the same gardening problems as me. Living in a desert area.. I bet your woes are worse than mine. Hope you are able to get some sort of harvest this year.
I had a great trip thanks! Made it home with quite a few veggies.
Hope you had a great weekend too. Thanks for stopping by!
Thanks Rick! I found lots of veggies, cool weather and greener grass. :) It took about 6hrs to get there but we wandered around a bit on the way.
Can't wait to see your patio pics. I bet the place looks great!
I haven't stopped laughing at the hay baling video you sent. lol
Thanks Rick!
Mark I bet the weather is beautiful up north! Nice and cool... Hope you had a great weekend too.
Thanks!
Hey Cowgirl. I am very unsure how to use this blogger too much so im sure im posting this in the wrong section, but my question is about your drum smoker. Beings that it is thin material. How did you go about putting your ball valve in at the bottom? I am sorry to post this in the wrong section. I am still learning LOL. But any info on how you put the ball valve in at the bottom is nice. Just seems if i cut a hole and push it in i wont get a seal. So i guess my question is basically how did you go about getting it in and sealing it?
Hi JDK426! No problem, you can ask here. :)
On the firebox on my smokehouse I welded the ball valve in place but on my drum I didn't. The valve came with a threaded piece of pipe on the end...I just drilled the hole and screwed it in.
I didn't secure it at all and have had no problems. When I remove the pipe plug from the end and open the valve, it twists sometimes but it had not been a problem.
One option might be to use threaded pipe and attach a lock nut on the inside.. or use JB weld if you don't want to weld it.
I've had no problems with with cooking on mine as it is.
Hope this helps JDK, let me know!
Thanks and good luck. :)
