I've completely lost my mind....

What little was left of it!

Anyone else working on their taxes today?

I'm gonna soooo need a camping trip after this! :)

update:
After my calculator quit, I cleared the cobwebs from my brain, put it to work... and finished the job in no time.

Then headed to the nearest bar for calf fries and a cold beer. :)

yeah! I'm good for another year!

:) Thanks Michael!
I've been doing the same thing as you... putting them off.

I still have a little bit of hair left (haven't pulled all of it out yet) but when I started babbling to myself.. I decided to take a break and play on the puter. :)

Hope you have good luck with yours!!
Thanks. :)

If I'm making any kind of guess about your tax situation then "working on your taxes" should consist of getting your documents together and visiting your CPA.
Your highest and best use is showing people how to make and enjoy awesome food. Let someone else crunch numbers. I would love to see how you do a brisket on your drum. Mine are coming out a bit dry.

Hi Mr. Clydesdale! Hope you're having a nice weekend. :)
I'm going through feed, vet, gas and truck repair costs right now.
I'll get to the rest tomorrow ( I hope).

I smoked a brisket on my drum not long ago..It was in December.
I don't inject them but any fat I trim off I place back on the top.

I also smoke them fat side down in the drum to protect the bottom from over heating.

Youm might want to try foiling... sometimes adding beef broth to the foil helps too.

Good luck!!

I thought you were going to say you got another cooker. I hate tax time and will start on mine soon - which means getting things in good order to take to my friend the CPA who does them for BBQ.

I had to do mine early in order to apply for scholarships. I cussed and griped my way through it but it's really nice to have it all done by the middle of February.
I feel for ya'.

lol No Larry... but a new cooker would be nice. :)
BBQ huh? lol Dang it, you have it made. I've seen your Q though.. your CPA is getting the better end of the deal! :)

Amy you are so lucky! :) Hope the scholarships come through for you too!

My calculator quit on me awhile ago and I've been doing these taxes with my few remaining brain cells... (not a pretty sight) lol

I'm scaring the house cat. :)

I am so with you on the tax thingey. I was audited last year for 2005,2006,2007,2008, and 2009. For 2008 (I love those guys). I had to bring everything including mileage log(what a pain). I had showed a $55,000 loss from the year before and the mileage set them on me. I did not owe, but it still cost me $1,000 to my worthy accountant.
This is just another reason to move to South America. "never pay another tax dollar"! Soon as I can I am gone! No property tax, no income tax. Only "VAT" taxes on consumables. No paying my accountant and storing boxes.

Good luck.... we all need it.

Well Jeanie, you can still afford calf fries and cold beer, so it must not have been all that bad. lol. Or did some good lookin cowboy get that for ya? They sell calf fries in the bar? Thats a good idea. Must be nice to get the taxes out of the way, mine are still in the future.

Hey Mark, good to see ya!
I had just enough money for the fries and beer and they tasted pretty darned good. lol
Yep they sell them in the bar. Not all bars carry fries.. I know where to go for the good ones. :)
It's a really good feeling to have the taxes out of the way.
I hope your tax prep goes well.. I don't envy you!
Thanks Mark. :)
