I checked out one of my favorite camping spots a few weeks ago.....
The lake
spillway..
river below the dam...
I had to get a closer look at the spillway. I've caught a few nice fish sitting right here.:)
This is also one of my favorite night time catfishing spots. I have to admit I do more star gazing while sitting here at night than anything. The sky looks sooooo pretty.. I've been tempted to use a chaise lawn chair out here so I can really kick back and admire the stars. lol
The red hills across from my favorite camp spot..
It looks so different during the SUMMER
Can you tell I have spring fever again?

I know! Me too! I keep looking in the files of my computer at all my gardening pics and campfires and GREEN grass. Hurry up spring
I'm with you. I'm sick of the cold weather. Told my wife to buy me a Spanish translation book and pack, we're moving south!
Nice spot ya got fer star gazing and minnow drowning, everybody needs a place to unwind.
God bless, Kevin
Look forward to hearing about your camping and fishing trips. :)
Jeanie, com'on down to Florida It's already warm enough. We hit 79 one day last week.
I tried your Chinese bbq'd pork yesterday...it was delicious, thanks.
Ron
Bushman I've been doing that too!
Can't wait to see green grass again. :)
lol Kevin... wish I could go with you! Thanks :)
Thank you Linda! Hope you get to do some camping and fishing this summer too. It's so relaxing. :)
Capt. Ron, I'd love to come down to Florida some time.
Your area looks so nice!
Glad to hear the pork turned out well for you.
Thanks!!
I'm in the spring fever club as well.
Is that the new Canton spillway?
:) Mrs JP, I enjoyed seeing pics of the flowers in your yard the other day. They were beautiful!
Hi Michael, It's Salt Plains.
I want to try Canton this summer, I've never been there. Hear the fishing is pretty good. :)
I've got spring fever too Jeanie. I could definately use some warmer weather too. Bring it on, send it my way, or just point on the map to a warmer place and I'll meet ya there and we'll tangle our fishing hooks together.
Hi
The platform on pic Nr 3 looks good.
Is it possible to fish at that platform
Great walleye lake. They just finished like a 10 million dollar overhaul on the dam and spillway.
I have only fished salt plains once years ago.
Mark I bet your spring fever is worse than mine! You've had snow and cold weather for months now.
I'm ready to head south and do some fishin' maybe we could converge on Capt Ron. lol
Hi Chris! :)
Yes... you can fish from that platform.
In picture number 4 I was standing on a platform just like it, but on the other side of the river.
That's my favorite place to fish at night....the stars are sooooo pretty! :)
Michael that's good to hear! I love walleye.
Thanks for the info... I hope to check out the lake this summer. :)
It must be an epidemic of mass proportions. I am so ready to throw the windows open air the house then grab the sleeping bags and tent and head to the creek myself. They are still getting snow just north of us so I keep waiting for that LATE freeze be my luck it won't come until May.
Maybe the place behind the platform is good.
Not so much stream.
A quiet place for small fishes.
Me too Earthmuffin!! I hope you get to go camping soon! :)
Thanks..
Looks like you're getting ready for serious fishing. The backed up creek just around the corner from us is full of stick-ups (dead underwater trees that are still standing) and it's been full of crappie fisermen on every pretty day. I can't tell from your shots - is that a fairly good sized lake you fish?
Yes Chris...that area is good too. I have three favorite places to cast from there.. and I seem to have good luck catching them.
I am sooooo ready to go back and give it a try. :)
Thanks Chris. :)
Larry I would be sitting on your dock right now fishing for crappie if I could. lol
I bet they are biting in your area...sounds great!!
The lake isn't huge, it's also shallow. It's a fishing lake, no ski boats allowed.
I like it because it's quiet. :)
Thanks Larry!
