I love beef cheek meat and have made these tacos in the past.... beef cheek tacos
Mgwerks canned cheek meat was a real treat! So tasty...
a section of pipe, expanded metal top, rebar legs and a burner out of an old hot water heater...
cooked a few sliced onions in oil until tender, then added the canned beef cheek meat....
tossed in a few tortillas to warm....
This was one of those plateless meals that I love. Grab a tortilla, fill it with meat and add a splash of sauce or a squeeze of fresh lime juice...
Goes so well with a cold beer too. :)
The tacos were sooooo tasty. I love beef cheek meat and Mgwerk's canned meat was excellent!

Jeanie, Those look great. That snow free patio and sunshine look almost as good as the food. Looking at my window watching it snow like crazy right now. Now that hunting season is over, I'm ready for spring.

I got this wok at the Academy Outdoor store in Oklahoma City.
It was a Christmas present to myself. lol
A discada would work fine. Mine has a leak and I haven't gotten around to fixing it!
The wok is pretty handy though.

Tristan, I just checked the Academy Outdoor online store.. they carry them.
I just did a search on their site for "wok".
I didn't buy the whole kit, just the wok. I found a metal ring here on the farm to set the wok on while using. It keeps the wok level.

I've had a request to make the same thing I did last year for the super bowl.
The bacon wrapped corn, smoked crablegs, shrimp, crawdads and sausage that are listed at the top right of this page under "favorites".
Company really liked those last year. :)

Lookin' good from over here..:)It was about 65* here today, another brush pile went "down in flames" :) Stay warm & keep the chili hot, cuz I'm headin' that way, should be there just in time for Super Bowl snacks :)

I hope this is not spring yet...We need a bit more rain. Naw! the burn thing was a last minute decision and I did not have any gourmet food in the house. lol The pooch and I enjoyed a cold ham sammie and I had a "silver bullet" or 4... :) I have "woolies", but what is a snow shovel? LOL Maybe I'll miss the super bowl snacks.:) Have a good one.....

Hey cowgirl I hope you fared the storm well with no damage. It was kind of a bust here about a foot. I'm going to attempt to replicate your fatty piston tonight as I'm doing 2 for the Superbowl. You are a mad scientist I love it! Also where did find that wok you show on this thread? I defenitely need to add that to my equipment arsenal.

Hi Mikey! The storm was mild here but the temperatures were killer. :) Glad to hear you made it through in good shape!
Good luck with the piston, they are easy to put together. Mine is 2" in diameter and 8" long and the inside "piston" rod is 1" in diameter and 11" long. I used a 1 1/4" cap for one end (fits the palm of my hand)...and a plastic disc on the other end that fits inside of the 2" tube.

What is it about the special quality of the fat and connective tissue that gives cheeks that special "je ne sais quoi"? I don't know, but one of my summer projects will be to buy a full case of cheeks from Restaurant Depot and do barbacoa for a year.
