The Lake

Had to check out one of my favorite little camping spots.

I just enjoy the "quiet" out there. :)

There are no camp sites, but this is one of my
favorite places to stay

The tall grass and shiny ice on the lake were so pretty...

I like shiny things...not diamonds... I'm more of a shiny fishing lure type of girl. lol

(I had to come back and edit this... I do have a favorite little pair of diamond earrings. :))

.

The ice on the water looked like frozen waves. :)

.

It was a beautiful day!

The second and third from last photos are spectacular, J! The water looks surreal and the light of the sun is coming in just right.

Seems like you have had a milder winter precipitation wise, no? Last year about this time I just remember seeing pictures of white tundras.

(And mention of a broken gas pump!)

Thanks Chris, those are my favorite pics too. It was sooo pretty out there, the ice looked beautiful with the sun shining down. :)

I have had a much milder winter this year.. I'm starting to worry that I won't get enough snow for angels or for snowballs for the 4th of July! lol

The gas pump is still down..they are STILL working on it! I have back up propane now. :)
Thanks Chris!

Nice pics. I can't believe you don't have any snow. You must be in the panhandle. We are pretty much buried on the east side.

Thanks Fastball! These pics were taken before that last storm.
It's still been a fairly mild winter here as far as snow goes...the wind and low temperatures have been causing some problems...

Hope you are keeping warm!

WOW Jeanie thats beautiful! I'm glad your faring well through these storms. What was supposed to be a nice weekend has turned to severe winter weather here. 3hrs of snow and freezing rain and sleet the last hour or so :(
but thats not going to stop my superbowl smoking! I'll send ya some pics in a little while.

You got ice down there? Sure is preddy ice! Wanna see real ice that trucks can drive on to go ice fishing...come north. But, to see the ice you gotta dig through a bunch of snow first! Great photos! Is that your profession, photography?

lol Buddy, it's danged noisy around here! Those darned roosters constantly crowing. lol
and the traffic that goes by here.. I think saw 2 pickups barrel down my road today. I've got to get away from it all every once in awhile. lol
Thanks Buddy :)

Thanks Anonymous, I'd like to go ice fishing one day. :)
Not a photographer.. I have a Kodak easy share camera. It's pretty much point and click.
I'd love to learn about photography though. There aren't any schools or classes around my area that I know of.
I probably wouldn't have time for a class anyway....
Thanks again Anonymous!

I'd be happy to send you some of the snow we got in Chicago! Lovely pics. There is beauty all around if we only stop to look. And you do! Thanks for sharing....

I like camping at the places that have no actual camping spots too. They always seem to be more peaceful that way. Thats kinda neat how the the waves seem to have froze like that. Our lakes are usually flat under the snow. I'm guessing it was from drifting snow maybe. Nice pics Jeanie.

Thanks David! I try to see the good in all. lol
Would love some of your snow, less than a foot though. :) Hope you are keeping warm.
Thanks!

Mark, me too! Most campgrounds are so noisy and crowded.. I like being out alone.
I hope you are keeping warm, I'm sure you have tons of snow and cold to deal with right now.
Good to see ya Mark and thanks...

I thought that was ice!!! A camp fire would've been nice, some marshmallows, hot dogs. I think I've seen this place, only it was warmer then :O)

cowgirl said...

Mrs JP, the lake was partially frozen.. the ice looked like frozen waves. :)
If it would have been a bit warmer I would have cooked something while there.. This is one of the places I post about when camping.
Can't wait til summer!
Thanks Mrs JP! :)
