The last two weeks have been busy. Company was here for the first week but I hit the second week of hunting hard. I really enjoyed just being outside, even if the temperature dipped into the teens at times. Bringing home deer meat for the winter was a bonus.
I went out each morning to get a good spot before the sun came up... it was cold but so pretty!
You can see forever while sitting on the edge of a sandhill.
This is the same area I hunt morel mushrooms ...
It took 2 1/2 hours to go half a mile in the sand and brush. (with help)
1. I'm very thankful for the meat and will put it to good use.
2. I need insulated boots
and
3. A 4 wheeler would really be nice!!
Hope everyone had a safe season!

Nice shootin' lady!
Congratulations on your deer!
Hey its been awhile, just letting you know i still check in. Glad you got a nice buck. Maybe Santa will send you some nice boots for being such a good cowgirl... lol Buddy
Nice buck! Yes, a 4 wheeler would be a big help. Living on the Iowa/Missouri border, we see a lot of hunters and their 4 wheelers around here. It's part of the standard hunting equipment, I think.
Nice Buck!
Nice buck ya got there gal.
He looks like a fighter with a couple of broken tips. Is that your other one that we can see in the picture.
Yep!insulated boots are great and why didn't ya go get one of them "hay burners" to help ya drag him?
We're trying to dry out from lots of rain here. I put the word in to send some of this wet stuff your way, but as usual he/she doesn't listen to me.....lol
Have a good week.
Maybe with this new laptop I can see the secret words better.
Hi Chris! It's nice to see you. Hope your Thanksgiving was a good one. :)
Thanks for stopping by!
Linda I'm really happy to have the meat. Thanks! Hope you have a great week!
Hey Buddy, How have you been? I'm still enjoying the Blue Angels pic! Thanks again!
I hope Santa brings boots. lol
Hi langela, it's nice to meet you! :)
A 4 wheeler would be nice.. I see a lot of hunters with them here too. I'm trying to think of more things I could use it for besides deer season.
It might be fun to have. :)
Thanks for stopping by!
David Thanks! Hope you have a great week. :)
Rick he was a fighter, a scar on one side of his face from the battle too.
Didn't have any hay burners close by. Would have been handy! Yes that's another one in the photo. Made out good this year. :)
Please keep trying on that rain. I could use it. lol
Thanks Rick, hope you have a great week too!
Congrats! Nice looking buck
LB Thanks!! Hope you all had a great season too. Thanks for stopping by! :)
Nice buck Jeannie!
I love those pics. Reminds me of when I used to hunt Wyoming. Wide open sagebrush prairie. There are no good words to accuratley describe how it made me feel. I can almost smell it now!
Hey Bushman, good to see ya. Hope your hunting is going well.
I understand what you're saying about the open sagebrush prairie... makes me feel pretty small. :)
Bet it was beautiful in Wyoming!!
Thanks for stopping by. :)
I decided awhile back to just skin and de-bone in the field. I bring an old clean sheet that I lay out to keep the meat clean and when it's time to go I wrap em in game bags and pack em out. Les weight and time when I get home. Plus I don't have a place to hang the animal without it being in plane view. Living on the "Left" coast that's frowned upon. To many touchy feely types. :-) good buck! You are blessed to have the harvest!
Marcus that's a great idea! Would be a lot easier to handle carrying through the brush.
Glad to hear you're not one of those touchy feely types. :) It's nice to be able to provide food for yourself from the land around you.
Hope you had a successful harvest this season too! Thanks so much for stopping by. :)
