How I spent my saturday night

On my quest to find a "thinkin" place last weekend, I ended up at my favorite little lake.
I brought the tractor rim, sleeping bag, lawn chair, fishing poles, bologna and bread.

I whittled a stick and roasted the bologna over the fire. :)

That was all I needed... bologna and bread. It tasted pretty good. :)

The temp dipped down into the 30s and I absolutely froze.. but the morning was beautiful..

When I got home, I made a big pot of bacon corn chowder to warm me...

I'm going camping again this weekend.. but I will take warmer clothes and an extra blanket..
probably take more food too. :)

This is what I love about your blog, simple things that are enjoyed. Sometimes we forget it's not about "things" but getting enjoyment out of life. Great post and pics as always! Thanks for sharing.

So, the serenity must have been worth the frost bite! Have a great weekend.

Wow - love the story, the pictures AND the amazement I felt at what you did! You get the prize, in my book, for the most original post I've read all day. :-)

Thank you NotBob! I appreciate that.. that means a lot to me.
I learned at long time ago that the best things in life are free.
I'm happy to wake up each day, and I choose to make the most out of what I have.
You're right, the simple things mean the most to me.
Thanks friend. :)
