I picked the first okra, tomatoes and summer squash from my garden tonight. You would think I'd make a nice healthy dish out of this combination....
Heck no... I opted for my favorites...
I fried the okra.....

Yum!
hey, why didn't you fry the squash? That tomato looks perfect. I like tomato sandwiches.
Jeanie, sometimes the best meals are the simpliest.
Hope your having a great day
OTT

What did you do with the squash?
MMMMMM fried okra, you should fry that squash also. Ok that settles it hope you got that addition put on the ranch house. My bags are packed I will call you from Elk City for further directions. LOL

Jerry
YD, I agree! :)
That's the way I like to eat a tomato...right out of the garden with a bit of salt. lol It's soooo tasty! :)
Mrs JP, I had planned on frying the squash too, but when I finished frying the okra I knew there was no way I could eat all of that! lol
I decided to save the squash for today. :)
Hey OTT, I couldn't agree with you more.
How are things in your area? Hope you are having a nice summer so far. :)
Hi Becky!
I saved the squash for today...not sure if I am going to fry it or make something else. :)
Hey Jerry!
lol If you are going to move in...bring your work gloves. :) I have a bit of fence that could use some attention right now. lol
Here in central NY, things are just starting to grow. lol
I like to slice the squash and rub with evoo, sprinkle with cajun seasoning and grill. good schtuff!
Mr D
Mr D, that sounds really good! I bet I'll give your recipe a try soon. :)
Thanks!
Okra smokra! ... Hmmmmmmmm Anyway, it's a love it or hate it food. Guess where I stand?? :)) Fried up like that, it sure does look good though. When I was a kid, we ate tomato's exactly like that ~ Straight out the garden with a salt shaker. Good stuff !!
Got 4 ears of corn and 8 chicken thighs, that have been marinading in Zesty Italian dressing for 4 hours, on the grill as I type :)
Bill
lol Bill, I take it you're not an okra fan. lol I love it fried and pickled...but usually leave it out of my gumbo.
Sounds like you will be eating well tonight! :)
Thats the only way to do it Jeanie. Healthy is boring, lol. I've never tried okra before, but it sure does look interesting. My tomatoe plants ar'nt growing any tomatoes yet, but some of the plants are looking pretty good. Hopefully soon I will be sprinkling a little salt on my own tomatoes.
lol I agree Mark. I have been waiting a long time for these veggies to ripen. Figured I'd at least eat the first batch my favorite way. :)
Glad to hear your tomato plants are doing well!
I still can't believe you've never tried brisket...and now okra. Don't listen to Bill...it's good stuff. lol
