Another Windmill Repair....

At least it was an easy one this time. :)
While checking the horses, cows, calves, shrimp and the windmill, I noticed that the nuts and bolts holding the pump rod came out.
By the time I went back to the farm to get a come along, chains and new bolts...the sun had set.

It wasn't really that bad, the temperature had cooled down and I was able to see just fine with the pickup headlights.

The hardest part was climbing up to the first level on the windmill tower with a piece of pipe.

I attached one chain to the pipe, then attached my come along to the chain....

Then attached a chain to the other end of the come along....

Made two half hitches around the well rod, and raised the rod up high enough to align the bolt holes in both the well rod and the rod that runs up to the windmill head.

The new bolts....

I released the windmill brake. (the red lever)

The windmill started turning, moving the pump rod up and down....

Yeah... water.

My helpers were happy too. :)

Wow, I'm glad you know how to do all that stuff. I stopped understanding after "hard to climb with a pipe in hand." And was back with you at "yea, water and your oh so wonderful friends!"
Point is, you fixed it.
