I had the chance to fry up some of the morels I found this weekend...
I like to soak them in a bit of salt water to get rid of the dirt and any creatures that might be hiding inside. :)

Those morels are a pretty interesting looking mushroom Jeanie. The whole plate looks very delicious.
Thank you Mark!
They are strange looking, kind of like a sponge. I like them though. :)
I'd trade you for a ribeye and cornbread. lol
I love morels and several other muchrooms, especially oyster mushrooms. One of the things I most look forward to upon moving to Colorado is gathering wild foods and mushrooms are at the top of that list! Then pine nuts are next and wild raspberries... yum... In Oregon where I grew up we use to gather wild asparagus and wild artechokes too.
;)S
Mmmm... wild raspberries, asparagus and artichokes would be great!! :)

Hi Huey! Good to see you!
I have never tried razor clams.. I just looked them up on google. Do you find your own? They look interesting...bet they are tasty!
Hope you have great luck finding morels. I'm not having much luck down here but it's been a nice getting out for long walks.
Take care and thanks!
We go out to find Morels every spring up here in Iowa! Didnt find to many this spring but ya take what you get! I love them fried just like that.
HillBilly my friends used to live in Iowa and said the morels they found up there were nice big ones. I wish I could find those kind here. :)
It was too dry here to make a crop this year... but I have a few dried ones I saved from last season. Hope your next season is a good one.
Thanks HillBilly :)
