A few "firsts" for me. :)
My first cook on the new Char Broil Quantum infrared grill.
My first post as a guest blogger at the Char Broil Live site....
and my first dove of the season. :)
Dove season arrived September 1st and I have been able to harvest a few this week. It seemed like a good idea to grill up a few as my first cook on the Char Broil.
If you get the time, please take a peek at my post. Char Broil Live
I'm definately not a writer... (you already knew that. lol)
I was very happy with the outcome. The Char Broil did all of the work, I just sat back and waited for supper. :)
Thanks for looking!

Looked at the Charbroil post, good job, love the photos. Tried the tater balls, I thought mine were a little fragile, need more work. I gotta stay out of here Jeanie, too many great ideas! Now you threw smoked rice at me :) I feed the doves here not the other way around :) I can taste your doves. Don
Your post there looked as yummy as your posts here usually do. :)
Just awesome. Thanks for sharing with us, hope you are continuing to mend. :)
Hey Ms. Jeanie,
Many congratulations on being selected as a feature host on the Char Broil Live site, you're post was excellent. And by the way, don't do yourself the injustice by saying that you aren't a writer because you are. Seeing those dove on the grill makes me want to get the cooker/ smoker that I have been building over the past couple of months get done even faster, it's almost there, it will be ready for bow season! Once again congrats and keep up the great work.
Chris G.
P.S. Where is the rain that you promised to send me here on the other side of the state, lol? And how 'bout those "Pokes" last night?
You keep this up and your gonna need a bigger patio to keep all your grills on.
Congratulations!
I like the "do all the work and wait for supper part!"
Hope you have a good dove season
Don, Thanks for looking at my first post there. I appreciate it! :)
I need to work on my tater balls too.. mine were a bit dense. They tasted good, I think I just need to practice with them.
You've gotta try smoked rice! It's one of my favorites. :)
Dove are pretty tasty. Small like shrimp but there's a lot of good flavor in them.
Hope you have a nice weekend Don! Thanks again. :)
Thanks so much Linda! I loved your cloud picture this morning.. it was beautiful!!
Thank you Chris! You're so kind...
I'm still planning on sending that rain. :) I had hoped that your part of the state was getting some moisture. It's been passing me by and I'm not sure where it's going! :)
If you get the time, I'd love to see the cooker when you get it finished. Bow season is coming up fast. That's one thing I hope to learn someday. Hunting with a long bow. Right now I rifle hunt, but am happy to get the meat for winter.
I heard that the "pokes" did great last night! :) Hope they keep it up.
Thanks for stopping by Chris, it's good to see you. :)
haha Kevin, you're right! :)
Thanks friend.. hope the rain finally found you! :)
Thanks Mrs JP! I loved that part too. The grill worked great. I think I'm hooked on the indirect heat method....no flipping and turning food and it doesn't burn. lol
I brought in more dove last night.. between the dove and catfish I brought in this week, my freezer is looking better. :)
Hope you have a nice weekend!
That looks awesome Jeanie...I'm sure we'll be seeing much more from this grill! Have a wonderfull weekend! I'll be doing a Tri Tip this weekend, I'll be thinkin bout ya...
Dave~
Thanks Dave! :)
I bet your Tri-Tip will be excellent! I've only cooked a couple of those but I loved them. For some reason that cut is hard to find in my area.
Hope you have a wonderful weekend too. I'm sure I'll be outside grilling something if I get the chance. :)
Thanks again...
BTW Great post on Char Broil Live! Our lil Jeanie is becoming famous right before our very eyes! lol You know all of your friends (and fans) are VERY proud of you! ;)
Thank you Anonymous! Wish I could give you (((HUGS))) for that. :)
Hey, Jeannie... another terrific post..and the article on the Charbroil site was great. Honestly, I don't know how you do it. Every pic I've seen - everything is just so impeccable and clean. Can't imagine how you keep all that cooker equipment so pristine. You really take care when you post these things to share.. and it is very appreciated. Thank you! I love checking this blog thru the week.

Brad Thank you so much... It's good to see you! Hope all is going well in NC. :)
I like to keep my cooking area clean and I try to take care of my equipment. I want it to last my life time. :)
Hope you had a nice summer and the storms didn't cause any problems for you!
Thanks for stopping by Brad, I appreciate it. :)
Every time I look at your "work" I am floored. Your the most interesting and down to earth "food blogger" on the net. Thank you so much for sharing your talent with us. Congrats on the Charbroil gig, may you continue to get the recognition you deserve.
NotBob, Thank you for that! (((HUG)))
I am looking forward to working with the Char Broil folks. It will be a new adventure for me.
It's good to see you.. Hope you are having a great weekend. :)
Char Broiled food is the best...
John, Thanks... what I've tasted so far was wonderful!
Cowgirl, simply outstanding. I think I could eat about a dozen of those dove breasts. They look so bite sized.
Anyway, I left a comment on the Char Broil Live site. I am so happy for you.
I think they know, "Your a Keeper!!!".
You go girl!!!

Hi Cowgirl! I just got back to work today been on vacation this past week. Tried to catch up on some chores. Not much luck but enjoyed the time off! I've been catching up on your blog. Congratulations on your Char Broil gig!! As always you did a great job on the blog. "I new her when she was just a country cowgirl". I'm very proud for you!! Hope your arms are getting better. Hope you have a blessed day! Your friend Mark.:)
My mouth started watering at the photo of the dove on the grill. Oh how I miss the days growing up with dove in the fall. It never seemed to last long at all. YUM!
