Thanks Gene! It's nice and quiet most of the time (well not during tornado season. lol )
I imagine your area is really pretty too. Someday I want to see the NE.. I bet the trees are amazing in the fall.
Thanks Gene! :)

Beautiful pictures!

I'm curious about your windmill - do you get electricity from that? How much does it produce? We've been considering getting some windmills on our farm. I think it's a fantastic idea, even if it doesn't give you *lots* of power, it would at least be nice to harness some of that natural energy :)

Jeanie,

How do you live with such serenity?

For those of us who are landlocked in metropolitan areas, the silence that you endure is deafening. :-)

Thank you Sara! This windmill is only used to water the livestock. It's about 1/2 mile from my farmhouse.
My house is an old farmhouse that was operated by wind power until the electric company talked the owners at the time to switch to their power.
They had a windmill that pumped their water and also supplied electricity. I still have the battery house and would love to convert everything back to the way it was. It's on my "dream" list of things to do. :)

Thanks again Sara!

Ron...Thank you! I'm really glad to hear you enjoy the pictures I post. I'll never take my way of life for granted but sometimes I wonder if others feel the way I do about the open space and beautiful skies out here.
Thanks Ron!

Also Thanks for the update on the sulfur.. I appreciate it. :)

Awesome Cowchick! I often dream of heading SE to Okie country to hang out at your homemade outdoor bar and have breakfast off your tractor ring fire. Maybe a bite of some pig off the cinderblock pit or some crablegs out of the drum smoker! :) A dollar and a dream girl...if ya dont feel like cooking we could just hang out by the shrimp pond with,a beer for you, a jack-n-coke for me and a very large pile of beef jerky!!

Hey Sap... Sounds good! We can make toasts to all of our friends under the stars too! :)
lol Funny you should show up today.. I was chewing on a piece of jerky for breakfast this morning and wondering what you were doing. lol
You will forever be thought of when I eat jerky or crablegs. lol

Thanks Mr D! :)

Very pretty, but no trees, no trees..where would my white tail deer hide during hunting season? No fallen logs in the forest for me to sit on with my rifle!

I'll bet soaring in a sailplane would be great above that country. Lots of space to land away from the airport!

cowgirl said...

Anonymous, it's a great place for soaring. The lift you get over a plowed field is amazing.... :)

As a child, our neighbor was a crop duster and shared a grass runway with us... he had several sailplanes...they were so awesome.
I wish I had one now. :)

You would be suprised at where the deer are around here. lol I am able to shoot them from my front porch. I usually just admire them and hunt at a nearby creek instead.

Now you have me yearning for a long flight in a sailplane.. it sounds so nice!
Thank you for bringing back great memories for me Anonymous!! :)

Tall grass, cool water, good looking horses, and wide open spaces. What more could ya ask for?
Are ya sure ya don't need a fat old busted up cowboy to help with the chores? :) HA! Have a great weekend.
