set up the homemade cooker and started heating my pot of water....
I prepared some corn, potatoes, onions, garlic, lemons, smoked sausage, shrimp and crawdads....
made a batch of smoked beans n ham...also a yellow squash/ zuc casserole...then smoked them in the Memphis Pro with hickory...
one of the salads... slaw
the pictures of the other salads, didn't come out well.
I forgot to take pictures of the other snacks...
I made some strawberry triffle.....
heated my garlic bread in the Memphis Pro.....
seasoning the pot....
I seasoned the pot with crab boil, lemons, onions, garlic, smoked sausage and cayenne..
I added the potatoes, cooked until almost tender, then added the corn, crawdads and shrimp...
covered a table with plastic, then newspapers...
poured the drained goodies onto the table and added bowls of garlic butter and cocktail sauce....
served with lots of garlic bread, napkins and cold beer...
It was a fun night.. we ended up playing guitars until 3 am...

Wow! I'm speechless (and wishing I was there.)
Thank you Ssteppe! It was a nice night and everyone enjoyed the food. You would have been more than welcome.
The Pro came in handy... I heated the beans and casserole first, then threw the garlic bread in at the last minute to heat through..
It was nice to be able to do my baking outside while I kept an eye on the boiling pot.
I'll let you know when I have the next crawdad feast. :)
That makes my mouth water...throw some brussel sprouts in your boil. They really pick yp the flavors of the boil.
How does the lyrics of the song go?
"Why Can't We Be Friends? Why Can't We Be Friends...?"
That spread is just over the top!
Jeanie,
Meant to ask, did you stock your windmill pond with freshwater shrimp again this year?
If you did, just curious when you harvest them? Isn't it in the fall?
When do you stock and when do harvest?
Not looking for an invite just been wondering if you went through that stocking process again?
Ooo! That looks fantastic! I've always loved communal-style eating. It's easier to clean up and it's more fun!
Looks like another goodie from the Feast Queen - WOW!!!. I'm sure no one went home hungry - I've got to get serious about buying the place next door to yours. I think if you put them on a little angle, you could squeeze another cooker in that row.:-)
Thank you Capt Ron! I would love brussel sprouts in the mix, unfortunately my friends won't touch them. I should throw a few in there just for me. :)
Thanks Ron.. you ARE my friend! :)
I stocked the pond the end of May and usually harvest the end of September through the first part of October. It depends on the water temperature. I have to harvest before it gets too cold.
The longer they can be in the water the bigger they will be. (for me anyway) The growing season here is about 4 to 5 months.
Thanks again Friend. :)
Another lovely spread! Are you sure you don't run a B&B?
Thank you Sara! I agree with you, it's much easier to prepare and clean up. I like the idea of not using plates too.. just "graze" on the table of goodies all night. :)
Thanks Larry! I would love to have you and Mrs Dude as neighbors! :)
I like the way you think too... there's always room for one more cooker. lol
Thanks.. :)
lol No B&B Mrs JP, I'm too lazy for that! lol
Thank you! :)
WOW Jeanie!! You really know how to treat your guests......amazing that they actually go home (can't say I would)! That's awesome!!!
Gene
Nothing better than a good boil! It's fun eating w/ just your hands and making a good ole mess! Everything looks wonderful!!
Brought back some good memories when I lived in Louisiana!
Thanks Gene! They almost didn't go! We stayed up until the wee hours of the morning. :)
It was a nice time...
Thank you Apple Pie Gal! I totally agree... it just tastes better when you eat with your fingers and make messes. :)
YD, Thank you! I bet the feasts you had in Louisiana were wonderful! :)
Good thing you don't have neighbors close by at 3am :)
Talk about a soft whimper! That looks fantastic. Your covered patio looks very cozy as well, rain or shine!
lol Chris... you're right! We didn't get too rowdy but I'm glad the closest neighbors are a couple miles away. :)
Thank you Dave! The patio is still a work in progress.. I'd like to add a sink and extend the wooden fence. I do use it a lot the way it is though.
Thanks again Dave.. :)
Oh man, why didn't I know about this? We were on our way back through Oklahoma that day, returning from a distant camping trip.
Bummer. But it all looks exceptionally great, hun!
Well shoot Mark, you could have ate a few crawdads and drank a cold beer or two!
Hope your camping trip was nice!!
Ok Jeanie...If I were thinking of relocating out your way, could I get an application to come work for ya? I even own a banjo! (but somebody would have to teach me how to play) lol
Dave~
lol Dave... I wouldn't make you work. You would fit right in with my friends. :)
Thanks!
