Red Beer

You're either a red beer lover or a red beer hater....

I love it. :)

This is a batch of my homemade spicy red. Unfortunately this batch wasn't for me.

I did have to give it a taste test to make sure it was ok though..... it passed. :)

I do love a good red beer, michlada, red eye or what ever you want to call it.
I use lots of horseradish and I usually garnish with a couple of garlic stuffed olives.
Did you finally exhaust the Mexican beer supply?

Looks interesting , I have never heard of red beer. what is it and how do I make it.
also I have my drum smoker almost finished, I plan to test it out this weekend. I am planning to cook a venison shoulder. do you have any suggestions for seasoning, or a rub that would be good. also what temp would you suggest and for how long?
any sugestions would be greatly apreciated. thank you!
Em.........

Marc, I'm glad to hear you are a red drinker too. :) I like horseradish in mine too. Your garlic stuffed olives sound good, I'll give those a try next time.
Thanks!

I still have some of the tecate. I think I drank all of the pacifico and XX. It lasted me a long time. :) I'm a lightweight!

Thanks Em!
It's a tomato based drink... I like mine a bit spicy. :)

For venison shoulder, I marinade overnight in Dales or Moores then insert cloves garlic all over the meat. Season and place bacon on top.
It's hard to say how long it will take in the drum but smoke it until you get an internal temperature of 160 to 165, then let it rest for 15 minutes before cutting so the juices will equalize.

Hope you have good luck with it!

You got the love it or hate it right Jeanie. Had my first red beer in Onyx bar in Elk City Ok way back in 1967. Hated it What a waste of a good cold Coors. Now my wife loves the Bud version of it sometimes she loves it a little too much when we are sitting around the fire pit after a long day.

Rocco, it's sort of like a Michelada. I've only known them to be called red beer around here though. :)

lol Hi Jerry!
It's definately not for everyone. :)
I see Bud has come out with a version. I've not tried one but have heard both good and bad about them. Glad to hear your Mrs likes red!
That's the problem with this homemade stuff. It's easy to drink three or four without realizing it, they go down too fast!

I've never heard it called red beer, but I've been drinking it -redeye where I came from - for about 45 years and love it, just had some the other day (home canned tomato juice and Bud). It never occured to me to pre-make it and put in jars - you're so creative.

lol Yeah another red beer drinker!
I'm glad I'm not alone.

Thank you Big Dude. :)

Never heard of it ever. It sounds twisted, to be honest, but then again, I don't care for bloody mary's either.

Wow, add bootlegger to the long list of interesting things about you:)
