A Parade of Deer

At about 5:30 in the evening, while I'm out feeding animals, a parade of deer pass by the house.

They have been doing this for a little over a week now.

Not sure if you can see them, they are in the bottom half of each picture. You might need to click on the pictures to enlarge them.

The deer bed down during the day and are heading out to feed for the night.

I've counted 10 does and have spotted one large buck in the group.

I stop what I'm doing to watch them and sometimes they stop to watch me. :)

Well I am glad you did not let the parade pass without recording it for those of us who have to travel to visit with any creature larger than a squirrel.

You know all of us that follow your blog are your own little herd of deer. We sometimes stop by just to look and s what you are doing.

Pretty day there - but sounds like snow may be on the on the way. On TV this morning, they said Okla City has had more snow this year than several places in New England - are you near there. Living in the country, we see deer regularly, but I never have the camera.

Isn't that the coolest thing. We have a parade of deer that come thru our yard and into the cow pasture next door daily this time of year and it just doesn't get old seeing them. Thanks for the pictures.

Marc, I'm glad you like the deer pictures. You know what.. I haven't seen a squirrel in a long time. That's something I have to go to town to see.
With no trees out here squirrels wouldn't last long due to the coyotes, owls, bobcats, etc..

I appreciate you stopping by to check out what I'm up to. :)

Big Dude, I hear there is a big storm on the way.
I spent the day getting things ready...hay hauled and feed and water situated where I need them.

I don't mind snow but could do without the ice.
Hope you keep safe and warm!

Thanks Mrs JP! Aren't they nice to watch. They are so pretty and graceful.
I'm going to hate posting my venison fajita pictures now. lol

Ha, the first one I saw in the first picture was the "tail tell" sign of that white butt sticking up in the middle of the picture near the bottom. You got mooned by a deer! They are taunting you, get your rifle ;)

lol Chris, I get mooned by deer every deer season. Seems like that's all I see...the deer high tailing it out across the sagebrush. :)

great pics I love to watch the deer and other wildlife that visit our back yard! I have no desire to shoot deer that come into my yard even if it's hunting season. there too much fun to watch, but I haven't seen a big racked buck in my yard yet, that could change everything!
I get mooned by deer every deer season too! and I wonder is that a tail? or is it a big white middle finger? lol..

You know that you can put out Cattle Cake for them and in about 2 weeks you'll have between 20 and 30 deer! That's what I've done for the past 4 years and I've got about 30 does and probably 15 or 20 bucks that come in ever night! Sure makes for some good pictures!

EM, me too! :)
I like watching the ones around the house and wouldn't shoot one unless I needed the meat.
I bet you have a lot of deer in your area. :)

Josie, I bet that would bring them around more often! :)
