Just a heads up for fellow photographers and bloggers. This site lxixixl uses your photos without asking permission...whether they are copyrighted or not. Then they require you to contact them to have your copyrighted material removed.
You might want to check them out if you keep a blog or website. See if they have taken your "stuff".
Just found this second one... connect.in.com
Looks like the same kind of deal. Using copyrighted photos without permission.

Liars 'n theives HATE "EM.....:(
Do we need to call in the calvery or an air strike?
BTW.....CM Russell is a favorite :)
Thanks for the warning! Why can't we all just get along?!!
Me too Rick, I think we need to round up a posse alrighty! :)
I like CM Russell too.. Thanks Rick! :)
I agree Mrs JP! Would be nice....
Wow, that is twice in two days....
But at least this site has the courtesy to provide the url to my site. The one last night used my photos, content, etc without any attribution at all.
Shoot Chris...that stinks! Seems like sites like these would realize they are going to get caught. Some people have no scruples...
Would love to see the first site you speak of... just to make sure my stuff isn't there too.
Thanks Chris!
Damn. Domain is registered in the Seychelles, hosted in the Netherlands. So a DMCA takedown notice won't work.
Did they remove yours when you complained?
Hey thanks for the info Drew!
They have not removed my pics yet.. I just sent a second request.
I received an automatic reply saying they would "process my request within the day".
I'll let you know if they follow through.
Thanks again Drew!
Hey Jeanie,
How did you find this out? I clicked on the link for ixl and typed in the search word veinson and found one of your recipes within the first three pages. Makes you wonder how much they really have.
Bushman, I typed in cowgirlscountry dot blogspot dot com and came up with over 2,000 of my pictures on that site.
Still have not heard back from them. If you know of a way to get them to remove my stuff, I'd appreciate the advice.
I hope they don't have your pictures too!
Yeah they have mine too though not nearly as many as you.
Very vague website. I don't see their way to make money. After all it's about money in the end.
Other than the contact address at the bottom of the page IDK how to get them to stop other than pasting every url into their remove box which is BS
Unfortunately I don't think you're going to be able to prevent hotlinking of images on Blogspot. If you use self-hosted WordPress (or anything using an Apache webserver) this will show you how to fix it: http://altlab.com/htaccess_tutorial.html
That link explains how to prevent all sites, or any specific sites, from hotlinking your images.
As long as you're using free hosting, it's not costing you anything (money-wise) for the hotlinking. Some people suggest that hotlinking your images actually helps you in Google rank, since more people are linking to your site and more people are viewing those links. I haven't seen any testing to confirm that, though.
In the meantime, you might have to go with watermarking your images. I've just copied a script to do this on mine, and I'm testing it now. I'll probably have everything over 200px watermarked by tonight.
Sorry to hear they have yours too Bushman. I think I'll keep trying...see if I get a reply from these guys.
Drew, Thank you! I appreciate the information. Think I'll start marking my photos too.
Found two men using my info on other sites. One claiming he made the ham/potato fattie that I had posted quite awhile ago. He used all of my pictures and said that they were his. I got the admin of the site to remove it.
Another man posted my complete photos and text on how to cook a pig on the cinderblock pit...taking full credit for it.
It's amazing how many dishonest people there are out there.
