Sometimes herding a pig can be as much fun as herding a cat. They definitely go where ever they want to go.
....and off he goes...
into a weed patch (not a great time for me to wear shorts) ...
almost have him heading in the right direction...
ouch! no fun going in after him...
He knows what he's doing.
Knows I will get the treats out to coax him where I want him to go.
I break out some slices of bread and the Cap't Crunch Peanut Butter cereal (I love that stuff lol)
Leave a trail for him to follow....
Right into the old stock trailer.
One of those evenings when I'm looking forward to a bubble bath. lol

He's seen too many of your BBQs!! He does not want to become a menu item.
Maybe you should have tried that first. ;-)
Have a wonderful evening and enjoy your bath!
It's a great life until that silver trailer pulls into the barnyard...
Ok so are you putting this one in the cooler or on the sale block? I am for the cooler, as it looks just the right size for the grill.

HA! HA! Funny story...How many times did ya think about making him into bacon, sausage, chops, or smoked pork, while on this little adventure?? C'mon be honest...;)
OH! and thanks for the tip about Cap'n Crunch peanut butter cereal for trappin' hogs, I will have to pass this on to my hunting buddies..... ;)
All is well out here, just trying to get things "winterized". Got the garden ready for winter crops, garlic already in, and the onions, carrots and beets soon. Have a good week.
lol Rem700longunner, you might be right! Thanks for stopping by. :)
I should have Linda! lol Next time I'll break it out early. :)
Thanks!
Hahaa Bill... so true!
Jim this one is for the table. He weighed about 250 lbs. :)
Still haven't forgot your recipes!! Will work on them tonight. :)
:) Rick, the deed has been done. He's now sausage, chops, still need to cure and smoke the bacon though. :)
Glad to hear all is well with you! Sounds like you are keeping busy too. Hope you're taking time to do some back yard cooking and relaxing once in awhile. Thanks Rick! :)
You know it is a strange thing you bringing up sausage as they do not have Sausage (patty type) down here in Chile and I had to have my son ship me some Leggs down with a friend just today before I read your comments. Sure do miss sausage in the morning!
Trevor and I just went for a pig hunt in Florida last week, his first hunt ever, and he got 3. Surprised him with a Remington .243, his first own hunting rifle. With his three and our 2, we filled the freezer.
I wonder if we would have done better baiting a field with Peanut Butter Capn Crunch:)
So now we know why he was a runnin'.....
Yep I'm still cookin' outdoors but not posting much on the forums, mostly lurking. I finally finished the roof over "Old Smoke's Kitchen" so I get to cook outdoors ALL winter long!!!
Will just need some anti-freeze.....to keep this old body warm......lol
Enjoy the weekend!
yummm,,,sausage, pork belly, ribs. Shorts?!? What were you thinking,,LOL At least you remembered the Capn' Crunch!
Well that IS odd Jim! I thought every country had some form of sausage. Maybe they call it something else.
I would miss it too! :)
Chris that's great! Congrats to you and Trevor!!
Let me know if you do try the cereal. :)
Rick I bet your place looks great! Nice that you can cook year round now. :)
Watch out for ole Jose. He'll sneak up on ya. lol
lol I learned my lesson Mrs JP! Going to have to retire the shorts for the winter.
Hope you had a great weekend!
