I have to admit, the only football I watch is the Super Bowl. I have no favorite team, have no idea who the players or coaches are. Most of the time I'd rather be outside.
I do enjoy Super Bowl snacks though. For me it's just one more excuse to make finger food. :)
...and I made the same snack that I made last year. A "mini" crawdad boil on the drum.
Made a loaf of garlic bread...
1 1/4 cups warm water
1 package yeast
2 tsp sugar
2 TBs oil
1 tsp salt
2 cups flour
1 1/2 to 1 3/4 cups additional flour
added the yeast to warm water, let it sit for a few minutes, added the sugar, oil and salt. Then 2 cups of flour.
After blending in the flour I added the remaining flour and kneaded for about 10 minutes, covered and let it rise for 1 hour.
After rising for one hour I divided the dough into thirds, brushed with butter and sprinkled with granulated garlic and a few herbs.
Then made a braid and let the loaf rise for one more hour...
I had one heck of a time with the braid, couldn't get the dough to cooperate so I sort of smooshed it together and called it good.
Baked the bread at 375F for about 35 minutes..
I seasoned the pot of water with liquid crab boil, coarse salt, cayenne, lemon juice, and added garlic cloves, smoked sausage, onions and potato cubes.
Placed the pot into the BPS drum and let it simmer at about 300F.
Drizzled corn with olive oil, seasoned with coarse salt and cracked black pepper, wrapped in bacon and set them in the drum too..
I rotated the corn for even cooking, when the tatoes were almost tender I added the crawdads..
then the shrimp...
and last the crab legs..
I got a late start cooking because I was goofing off. I missed the national anthem and the first quarter....
but sat down with a plate of goodies and watched the rest of the game.
I didn't have a favorite team but was sort of assigned SF. Even though they lost, they did a great job in the second half.
Hope everyone had a great weekend whether you watched the game or not. :)

I will become the biggest football fan for bacon, crab and other critters. The spread looks good.
Looks great Jeanie. Is that a Prairie Boil vs. a Low Country Boil? ;)
lol Steven thanks! I like the way you think. :)
Bill that's a great name for it. Thanks! :)
Great looking snacks, Jeanie
I'll have to try your bread. Generally I don't do well with dough, it mostly turns out like petrified hockey pucks..... generally requiring a hatchet and/or dynamite and lots of liquid for consumption.....;)
Hey, have a great weekend
Well I don't even watch the Super bowl Jeanie, but if I knew that it consisted of seafood like that, I could probably sit through any kind of game.
lol Thanks Rick! I had a bit of a time with this loaf.. it almost won. :) Hope you have a great weekend!
Mark, it's good to see ya! Thought maybe winter froze your puter up or something. :)
Hope all is going well. Thanks for stopping by!
That first paragraph had me laughing! Looks like a great spread!
:) David Thanks!!

Hee, hee. Got a kick out of that.
My feelings exactly.
:) Thanks Ole Smokey... Glad to hear I'm not the only one! :)
