Didn't know the exact number of people who would be there so I decided to do a crawdad boil. It's an easy way to feed a crowd. :)
I brought a new burner that I picked up at Bass Pro a couple of weeks ago...
used Zatarains crab boil packets, some Louisiana crab boil seasoning, cayenne and coarse salt..
seasoned the pot with fresh lemon juice, garlic, onions and smoked sausage..
added small new potatoes, both red and golden...
when the tatoes were almost tender, I added the corn.....
next came the crawdads....
then the shrimp...
covered a table with trash bags, then newspapers...
The crab legs would not fit into the pot so we poured the crawdads out first then heated the legs..
served grilled garlic bread, garlic butter, cocktail sauce, lots cold beverages and napkins...
everyone dove in... we were starving! :)
some used plates and some stood beside the table to snack...
there were two and one half baggies of goodies leftover...
clean up was a breeze...
everything was rolled up in the plastic trash bags....
While cooking, the park ranger came by and said the fire ban had been lifted which made for a really nice evening....
We brought our guitars out and rounded up enough wood to keep the fire going into the wee hours of the morning. :)
one of the happy campers :)
There were 11 of us camping this time. Hope to do it again next fall. :)

This is a meal that is just hard to beat - we sure enjoyed it at this years blogger party. Glad you could enjoy your evening fire. It's been raining for two days here in Cheyenne, WY so they may not have to be so careful for a few days at least.
lol Pid you need to have a boil!! Let me know so I can be there too. :)
Thanks! :)
Larry you're a long way from home!! Bet it's pretty up there. :)

Thanks Larry! :)
Wow, crab legs too!
We did one of these at Larry (Big Dude) and Bev's place this summer and it was a blast. Helped having real cajuns handle the cooking for us;)
Thanks Chris! I usually don't have crab legs but really couldnt resist them this time. They were on sale. :)
I bet the party at Larry's was fun!!
