If I were a tree hugger......

this would be the first tree on my place to get a huge hug. :)
It's my favorite tree on the farm... a nice big cottonwood.

These pictures do not do it justice. The trunk of the tree is huge, it sits down in a little draw..... not all of the base is showing in the picture.

I've climbed her limbs, sat in her shade during the summer heat, thrown her seeds at unwilling victims and made many a whistle from her leaves. :)

After feeding the animals and tucking them in for the night, I enjoyed watching the sun set. The lower the sun dropped, the pinker the sky became.
It was a nice show. :)

Looks like fall made it to my little part of the world. :)

OTT, How in the heck have you been? Hope all is well in the Chicago area!
It was really peaceful and pretty out last night. The only sound I could here were the quail calling to each other.

The tree is beautiful! I missed the tree in our farm! I always climb trees and rest there and wait for the sun to set. Nice feeling! God has really done ways to make everybody happy with his creations!

Mark, thank you!
I bet you are right. It's my favorite tree here and I spend a lot of time in that area of the pasture. :)
For someone who loves trees so much, I sure live in a barron part of the country. lol
Your place is looking great!!

Beautiful pictures! I've got a huge one down at the end of my driveway and it's turning the brightest yellow you ever saw! Have you got very many frosts out there? We got a killin' one last week, now all the trees are turning!

Thanks Josie!
I think cottonwoods are my favorite. :)
I've had one really good cold spell with some freezing rain. It pretty well finished off my garden.
It's really cold out tonight....looks like winter will be here soon. :)
