Everything is turning brown around here but I'm happy that the cattle and horses are going into winter with full bellies and a bit of pasture grass to keep them happy for awhile.
It's almost time to haul some calves to the sale barn...
The cows are bred, I'm interested in seeing what kind of calves the new bull throws next spring. He's been a gentle bull and seems to be happy staying in the pasture with the girls.
The horses are doing well...
The eldest of the trio had me worried last winter. I might bring her into the farm pasture closer to the house for the winter so I can keep an eye on her.
The old windmill is clickin' along... maybe it will last through the winter with no problems. I'm keeping my fingers crossed. :)
Looking at these pictures....everything looks so serene. I forgot what a trying day that was. Locked the pickup keys in the truck, had to hoof it home for another set. The danged breeze was so cold. lol
Then the truck blew a hose and over heated....steam was shooting out from under the hood. I hung my head out of the window to see where I was going. When I reached the top of the hill I coasted the rest of the way to the farmhouse in a fog of smoke. lol Guess I was just happy that I made it home. :)
