Good Ole Biscuits n Gravy

Went camping not long ago and really enjoyed it. The weather was cold at night but the days were pretty  warm.  I usually make biscuits and gravy on the campfire but with high winds expected, I opted to use the little charcoal cooker.

Place my biscuits into a buttered pie pan, topped with another buttered pie pan. Wrapped the whole thing in foil and set it over the coals to cook. I rotated and flipped the pan often for even cooking.

Also started a skillet of sausage for the gravy...

fried a skillet of hash browns too...

added flour, seasonings and milk to the browned sausage to make the gravy...

scrambled a few eggs in butter..

the biscuits take about 25 minutes...

The biscuits, sausage gravy and eggs....not sure where my skillet of hash browns were sitting.

Biscuits, sausage gravy, hash browns, eggs and fruit to make it look healthy..

Tasted pretty good at the time. :)

I enjoyed the camp out even though I froze and didn't catch any fish. It was just nice being out there.

Magnificent as Usual!

Sometimes you just have to get out of the house after a long winter even if the weather is not quite spring weather. Vittles look great.

Camped in the snow a time or two just because you got to! I think I see what I'm doing wrong with my camp cooking. Not enough iron skillets.:) Fish or no fish, looks nice at the lake.

Hey Chris, good to see ya. You must have a tougher hide than me to sleep in the snow. :) (yeah, I'm a wuss) lol
Those darned skillets are a blessing and a curse. They put out good food but I wish they weren't so heavy! :)
It was a nice week out there. I'd like to go again soon.
Hope you get to do some camping this summer....and I wish you had a blog to post pics, I'd love to see em!
Thanks Chris! :)
