Love At First Sight

...at least it was for me! This was his first look at a human and he didn't know whether to check me out or bolt back to his momma. :)

He listened to my voice and decided I might not be too dangerous. :)

The cows are fat and happy...

The horses loved the attention...it's almost impossible to take pics without their help. :)

The pasture is greening back up.... I'm really happy about that!

Tried to get a shot of one of the girls with the sunset in the background...
didn't work out so well. She couldn't understand why I wanted her to stand so far away from me. :)

The glare on the camera made it look like she had an alien eye. lol

The evening was so beautiful and the aroma of wildflowers filled the air.  :)

It was really nice to be back out there... the fresh air and open space was just what I needed. :)

Hey Ms. Jeannie

You've got a dandy there. Looks like everything is going well, it sure is good to see you up and around, I've missed you. I know that getting out with the gang was the best medicine ever, it always is for me. You take care and take it easy.

Thank you Chris! You're very kind..
Hope all is going well in your end of the state. I did get a bit of rain last night, everything is looking pretty green here now.
Hope you have a nice rest of the week and weekend too. :)

Nothing prettier or more therapeutic than mommas and fresh babies wandering on a field of green with the smell of wildflowers in the air.

Glad to see ya up and movin' around. Have a great weekend.

I love you new baby too! I also have the problem you have with our dogs taking pictures. I try to pose them and ease away, only to have Charlie follow me like there's a bungee cord attached to us both! They just love us so much.
The sunset was stunning.
I hope you are better.

I agree with ya Rick! It's nice to sit out there and watch the babies. Things are greener this year than the last few so it makes it that much more enjoyable.
Hope all is well with you!!
Thanks. :)

Thank you Mrs JP! I can imagine how hectic it is to get a picture of your "family". They are so cute though.. I can see the love in their eyes in your photos. :)
Hope you are having a great summer!

When do you do your calving or do you just let it happen au natural? I found it interesting that on the Meyer ranch they moved from Jan/Feb to March/April/May because that's what the elk do around there. The change resulted in lower mortality rates and such.

I was so impressed with the hands there, those gals and guys work their tails off!

I go for the late calving too Chris. It really does work out best for me and I have few losses due to weather.

Ranch work can be hard but it is so rewarding. :)
I enjoyed seeing your pics of the Meyer Ranch, it's beautiful up there!
Thanks Chris! :)
