My Favorite Store... :)

Bass Pro.....

This is the store in Oklahoma City. I do not get to visit it often and usually spend too much cash there, but came up with a plan this time.

My plan was to shop without a cart, that would limit the amount of "stuff" I could get. Be careful if anyone offers to carry "stuff" for ya though. lol

I glanced at the boats and headed straight for the fishing goodies. There was no way possible to take pics of all the fishing supplies but I snapped a few...

Interesting how lures work on me as well as they do on the fish... I couldn't resist them. :)

Some of the reels....

I can't resist the gun/hunting section too...

target practice....

The fly tying store...

The big bear....

and the fish tank...

it's hard to get good pics of the fish....

I didn't get pics of the archery section, the hunting gear, the clothing, the outdoor cooking and a lot of other things.. my hands were full. :)

I made it out of the store with a few fishing goodies and was $71.00 lighter. (A lot better than usual!)

We went to The Billy Sim's BBQ Joint on South Meridian. It was pretty good. I use his Boot Kickin' sauce a lot so I picked up a couple of bottles.

Back to my room....

I enjoyed the weekend. It was nice to get away for a couple of days. :)

When they say money talks, I can just hear it saying, "C'mon, dang it. Take me to Bass Pro Shop and spread me all around. What good am I stuck under the mattress anyway? C'mon, let's go!"

That's quite the store Jeanie. Congrats that you managed to hold yourself back from over shopping. I guess the no cart rule is a good one, but one could just make more trips in and out of the store too. You did good Jeanie, lol. I'm glad you had a good trip.

Cowgirl, thank you for taking us through this trip at Outdoor World. I am glad I live on Guam or otherwise you would find me bedded down in the camping section.

This post made my mouth water more than 3 lb rib eye. I am saving a lot of money living on Guam.

You are the best....
Regards from Guam,
Rueben

Thanks! Now I know where I'll be spending my weekend (and paycheck). Any chance they gave you a major discount on a lure to mention this trip on your blog? :) Wise marketing move on their part. That plate of Q looks like it alone would have been worth the trip to town!

Hahaaa Charade.. I like the way you think! Thanks for the laugh and thanks for stopping by! :)

lol Mark....I thought I had my Bass Pro problem solved... now you've given me a new option.
Thanks... I think! lol
I did enjoy the weekend away though. The big trip to town will probably last me a few months. :)
Hope you had a good weekend too, thanks Mark!

lol Rueben it sounds like you would enjoy this store as much as I do! :)
I feel like a kid in a candy store when I'm in there. :)
You are very lucky not to have Bass Pro in Guam, they DO have an online store you might want to check out. lol
Hope you had a great weekend, thanks Rueben. :)

lol Chris... I didn't think to ask for a discount. Heck, I'd almost pay a fee to walk through their store. lol ok, maybe not but I do enjoy roaming around in there. :)
Soooo much to see. I know it sounds silly but I get more pleasure from a shiny fishing lure than I do a shiny piece of jewelry.
Hope you get to go there next weekend.. better leave that paycheck at home. lol
Thanks Chris!

We love Bass Pro shop, too. It's the only place we can find good freshwater fishing bobbers.

As always, your food looks fantastic! :-)

Hey Ms Jeanie,

I pass by the Bass Pro everyday coming to and going from work here in Tulsa and I have to take my hat off in a moment of silence because it is "Sacred Ground". I'm constatly thinking of somthing I need (want really bad)so I'll have a good excuse to stop. Glad you had a good weekend and made it back home safely.

They've got so much "stuff". :)
Thanks!

lol Chris... you have it made. :)
I can't imagine driving by Bass Pro every day, that would be too much for me.. It does feel like "sacred ground" doesn't it! lol
Thanks for the laugh. :)
I did have a nice weekend, it was great to get away for awhile. Hope you had a great one too.
Thanks again Chris...

I've tried the "no shopping cart" thing and I usually pull a muscle..lol
YOU have target practice at yours?!? I'd be hanging out there. Oh, and aren't those boats so cool? I love BassPro too.

I was at Cabela's this week & left empty handed! They didn't have the 9mm I wanted but... it was still fun to look at the fish. I got a brisket in the fridge and am making Texas smokey links today. Might as well we're supposed to get a snow storm. Stay warm!

Hahaa Mrs JP! I know the pulled muscle feeling very well!
The target practice thingy is pretty nice. I didn't try it out this time but would have loved to spend an hour or so there. :)
The boats are great.... if there were more lakes in my area, I'd definately want one.
Thanks Mrs JP! :)

lol David that is amazing! Leaving empty handed would be hard to do. Good luck finding the 9mm... I wouldn't mind having one myself.
I bet your brisket and links are going to taste awesome.
Thanks David!

We are so lucky to have a BassPro just a half hour from here! I agree about the difficulty of controlling your spending there. What's worse is Academy Sports just opened just 2 miles from my house! same situation, too many toys there.

Chris you are sooooo lucky!! :)
I love Academy too... There is one in Okla City but I didn't go by there this time. (probably a good thing:))
Thanks Chris..glad to hear I'm not the only one!
