Snow balls, snow ice cream and half of a snow angel...

The first good snow hit last night.

I'm not sure how much snow we received but the moisture is appreciated.

She knows I'm up to something...

After wallowing around in the snow with the dog on my chest licking my face, I was able to make about 1/2 of a snow angel. :)

I gathered snowballs for the 4th of July...

Then finished the afternoon with snow ice cream...

I mix 3/4 cup of sugar with one egg. Add a pinch of salt, a dash of vanilla, one cup of milk...then as much fresh WHITE snow as you can incorporate into the mix.

The snow ice cream with whipped topping, toffee and chocolate covered peanuts.

It was a nice day. :)

I never knew about snow ice cream when I lived somewhere that had enough snow to make it.
I love how you say white snow, haha!

Enjoy your White Christmas, Cowgirl! :-)

As a kid, I remember making snow ice cream by mixing a box of instant pudding mix (chocolate, etc.) with about a 1/2 to 1 cup of milk, then adding the snow. Thick and creamy.

I was expecting to see tracks of Big Foot in your snow.

Have a very Merry Christmas Cowgirl. Thank you for the joy you've given me this year.

lol Thanks Linda! I use only white snow. :)
My mom taught me how to make the icecream when I was a little girl. Probably wanted to keep me occupied on a snowy day. lol
Hope you have a wonderful Christmas!

I always loved snow ice cream too. Mom said we had to wait til after Christmas for the best snow, and she'd crush up leftover candycanes to mix into it. Yummm

Glad you enjoyed the first snow! The weather guys keep teasing us central/eastern OKlahoma folks that there is snow in our forecast then all we get is rain, lol. Oh, well we need all the moisture we can get!

UrbanHomesteader, I'm glad you got a bit of rain. If any extra snow comes my way I'll send it to you.
Thanks! :)

FUN!!! Very very cool recipe! We just got a big snow dump here in Nova Scotia so I may try to make this tonight! Thanks and happy holidays to you! :-)

It is still unseasonably warm here and we're only getting liquid snow. It's hard to make rain angels and rain balls, ha ha.

Jeanie, you have more snow in Oklahoma than we do in Alberta. We have a bit of a chinook thing going on. Sure am glad to see you're getting something for moisture though. I'll have to make a note to stay up north when the 4th of July rolls around again. It'll be alot safer here I think. By the way Jeanie, do I have to show you how to make a real snow angel?

Thank you Kitchen Vignettes!

Merry Christmas to you and family. I hope you have a wonderful 2012 too. :)

Hahaa Mark.. you do have to show me how to make a real snow angel!
I still have a pic of what a real Canadian snow angel looks like...it IS a lot better than mine. lol
Yeah... ya don't want to be around my part of Oklahoma on the 4th. lol

I was thinking about you... I stumbled upon a hunting forum from Alberta. I know you don't hunt but the pics and posts were interesting to me. Your area is so beautiful. If you take up hunting let me know, I'll send the link to you.
Hope you have a great Christmas Mark! Thanks...

Snow ice cream: reminds me of being a kid. It's finally snowing here in Southeast Michigan. I was getting a little nervous. Hope your Christmas was amazing.
