True Grit....the movie

Here's a tip.....
Don't take real cowboys with you to watch a western movie. If you really want to see the show without listening to comments about every little detail that isn't quite right.......go by yourself. :) I understand that movies are "pretend" and enjoy them for their entertainment value.

Back to True Grit...

It was better than I had expected. John Wayne's boots are hard to fill but Jeff Bridges did an okay job of convincing me he was a derelict old law man of the west. Even Matt Damon's version of a Texas Ranger was entertaining.
I enjoyed the show.

Another tip.... sit in the middle holding the bucket of popcorn or you won't get any. lol

Haha. My hubby is the same way when it comes to military movies (or any show) with military type aircraft.

I'm glad you enjoyed it. I couldn't see spending money on it for myself. I mean, it wasn't John Wayne. ;-)

Have a great week! :-)

Happy new year to ya cowgirl... how far did you have to drive to see the movie :-). Have a great day and remember it's getting closer to spring every day.

haha Linda.. You know what I mean!
The show was better than I thought it would be.. like you said, it wasn't John Wayne. :)

Hope you have a great week too. Thanks!

Thanks anonymous! :)
It takes about an hour to get to the theater. Probably why I don't go very often.
I've been dreaming about spring and morel mushroom hunting. :)
Hope you have a great 2011 too!

I'll see it when it comes out on DVD. I just can't imagine re-doing that movie but I'll try to watch it. John Wayne was just so awesome. That's like someone trying to redo Casablanca...no-one could be Rick but Humphrey Bogart!
Good for you for keeping an open mind as you can see I don't..LOL

lol I agree with you Mrs JP... no one could do it as well as John Wayne.. but ole Bridges wasn't half bad! :)
Hope you check it out sometime. :)

Nice, I am loving all the reviews of the movie. I'll wait for it to release on DVD, but I want to see it. Your comments of who to watch it with reflect my wifes' comments about cop shows. She complains that I point out every little error. But I have to see this movie.

Yeah I was the same way, it wasn't the Duke... but Bridges did a fairly good job. Didn't like the ending as much as the original, but it was good overall.

Haha David... Do you talk through cop shows? :)
Hope you see True Grit... it wasn't that bad.

TJ, Me too!! Wish they would have left the ending alone. Did you talk through the movie? lol
Glad you went to see it too TJ. :)

Alexis and Trevor went to see it while I was at work. They both liked it but neither are cowboys...the last time I checked.
