Biscuits n Sausage Gravy

This is one of those stick-to-your-ribs breakfasts that will hold you til sundown.

I made a batch of hot flaky biscuits, a skillet of bubbly sausagy gravy, crisped some potato shreds, fried an egg over easy and added a couple slices of apple and orange...

It was tasty! :)

Biscuits and gravy......my absolute #1 favorite breakfast, just barely beating out chicken fried steak 'n eggs. Hmmmmm...Maybe that is the reason I'm so slim and trim LOL :)
Sure looks good

Looks great Jeanie. My brother-in-law and I made hashbrowns, biscuits & gravy, bacon and eggs on New Year's day. Helped soak up all that Coor's Light from the night before!

That sounds perfect Nick! I should have made bacon too. lol
Glad to hear you're a Coor's Light drinker..that's my choice in beer and I catch heck about it. Nice to know I'm not alone. lol

Thanks Nick...

Thanks Marc! It's a really filling meal. Good thing I don't make it often, I wouldn't get anything done around here. lol

Hi Jim.. I keep around 25 hens. I like the heavy breeds best.
Hmmmmm... right now I have some home hatched mix, some marans, buff orpingtons, ameraucana, ancona, sometimes I have black australorps.
I like domininique and keep them at times.... also barred rocks.
The heavy meat breeds are nice to have around.. good eating and I have all the eggs I need. :)

Breakfast plate looks awesome! Do you shred your potatoes raw for hashbrowns, or parboil or bake them in advance?

cowgirl said...

Thanks Creaky,
If I have an extra baked potato I'll use that but these were shredded raw and stored in icy cold water to keep from browning.
