Like a kid in a candy store.... :)

If you ever make it to southwestern Kansas, there is a nice little air museum in Liberal. They have a great collection of aircraft.

I wandered through it a few months ago and snapped some pics..

They have a bit of everything... from military to experimental..

I love this one below..... mmmm...mmmm...mmmmmmmmmmm :)

oh yeah... this one too....

and the little red skybolt... just my size. :)

While looking through these pics on my computer, it brought back memories of my childhood.
Sitting around, listening to my dad and his friends "hanger flying" ...... exchanging stories and photos of their adventures in the air. :)
Friends and relatives exchanged more airplane pictures than they did pictures of their own children. (unless you were standing by the prop or leaning on the cowling) lol
and here I am... collecting aircraft photos....
I am my father's daughter! lol

I don't know....this museum seems kind of....plane! ha ha ha ha

sigh. Sorry.

If you ever find yourself in Pensacola, FL or Orange Beach, AL, make sure you go to the Aviation Museum at the Navy base. I could have spent two days there.

1976 visiting the air museum in D.C...there was this perfectly good P40 with the Canopy open on the floor level. If the girl I was with would have been willing (she wasn't) to hold up a newspaper while standing next to the guard, I could have hopped in! My next warbird encounter was a B-29 and I got to see the tunnel my dad had to crawl down to get to his gun station. Being a hanger rat I grew up helping to restore this N13897 in Minnesota.

Heheh... Great stories Anonymous! :) I bet it was tempting to hop right in. It sounds like you and I grew up in similar situations.... being a hanger rat was pretty nice wasn't it? :)
Thanks for stopping by, your stories gave me a huge smile!

That's quite the collection of planes. I'm just amazed that you did'nt end up flying one of them home. I can just picture you doing that Jeanie.

lol Mark... there were a few sitting outside that I was tempted to try out.
If you hear a plane buzzing your house, it might be me! lol
Thanks Mark..

This looks like a great collection of neat planes. I used to wish I'd taken flying lessions in my youth but I'm over it now.

lol Larry...you got over it huh? :)
I'd like to get one of those one seater helicoptors to buzz around the farm. They look like a lot of fun.
