Dang it!

I know I should reserve my "dang its" for important things like a rattlesnake biting my dog.... but Dang it! Deer season starts Saturday, company will be here for the week (my house is deer camp) and I've got several meals planned
.....but I forgot about Thanksgiving! How could I do that? lol

I agree. For me, deer hunting starts the day after Thanksgiving for three days and my son wants to stop by with his girlfriend. Told him to be ready to hold the flashlight like the last time in case I shoot a deer late in the day. And I thought I'd have four days home alone! Who knows, maybe his girlfriend knows how to field dress a deer and I can put her to work! This weekend is dedicated to blowing leaves off the lawn, cutting brush where I hunt in the woods and making sure the rifle is still zeroed in.

well at least you remembered before next Thursday. It was yesterday morning before I remembered that my dad's wife's 80th was yesterday. The card will be late but at least she got a phone call on time.

lol Anonymous...sounds like you're ready for deer season too!
Maybe your son will bring a turkey and the trimmings for an after hunting snack! lol
Hope you have great luck hunting this season. :)
Hope you have a nice visit with your son and his gf too. :)

lol Wow Marc, that was cutting it close! Glad to hear you remembered in time to call... I bet she appreciated it. :)
I am glad I have a week ... I saw a nice flock of wild turkeys down the road the other day, maybe one will wander into my yard. lol

Hope you have a nice Thanksgiving!

Home grown shrimp cocktail appetizer, backstrap - marinated & grilled medium rare, vension sausage dressing, your cheesy potatoes, something green, pumpkin pie - sounds like Thanksgiving dinner to me. I was once back in the mountains of WV with a group of hunters on Thanksgiving day and we had fried deer liver, fried potatoes & onions, white beans and cornbread - one of the best holiday meals I ever had.

Not too worry, invite the family over, (as you would normally do). Then slap a gobbler on the Memphis pro and go hunting. When ya get back the turkey will be done and the family can hang out with all of your rowd....errrrrr....ahhhhh deer hunting friends. Should be fun;)
I hope this helps lol :) and have a great turkey day....
Rick

Things happen Jeanie. lol. You just got too much going on at times. I know you'll figure it all out though, but good luck with everything anyway.
