BBQ Pitmasters on the TLC channel tonight

There is a fairly new show on the TLC channel this summer, called BBQ Pitmasters
It airs tonight at 9pm central time.
People were asked to send in video applications for the chance to be on the show. Out of thousands of applications sent in, my smoking Pal Big Poppa's team was picked!
Their show airs tonight... I can't wait to see what the Big Poppa team does. :)

There have been soooo many negative comments on the net about the show's format this season. The BBQ world is in an uproar over the producers making the show more of a circus than actually showing the smoking techniques of these talented people.
In my opinion, that's just tv for ya. They try to make things exciting to get viewers.

I try to look on the bright side of things.. I'm happy that there is a show about outdoor cooking... I'm really happy that Big Poppa's team was picked to be on.... and I'm elated that I don't have to watch another cop, doctor or lawyer show (no disrespect to the professions).

If you get the chance, tune in tonight. I have no idea who wins the battle tonight but know that they all had fun making the show. :)

I watched it last night as well. It's a good show but being a food enthusiast myself I want to see the more detailed workings of the pros. Like you said it's TV and that might bore "regular" people.
Did you send in your application?
The only thing I'm smoking right now is jalapenos. I managed to harvest a couple geese so goose jerky will be in the works shortly.
I will root for Big Poppa!

I've been looking forward to this one since he and DivaQ are both on this one.

As far as the negativity, last not John Markus on was BBQ Central Radio to take calls from all of the bashers and guess how many called in.

Go ahead...guess.

I'll give you a hint, it's less than 1.

Bushman, thanks! I'm going to root for Big Poppa too. :)
I'm just glad there is an outdoor cooking show on.
Heck no I didn't send an application in... I'm too camera shy for that! I'm happy cooking out here in the wild. :)
Good luck with your goose jerky, that sounds great!

Wow Chris.. that is amazing! lol
It's great.. maybe some attitudes are changing a bit?
I'm looking forward to seeing Diva and Neil too. I know Diva said it was something like 110 degrees there. I can't imagine cooking in that heat!
Still glad they all got to go. :)
Thanks Chris!

I made a point to watch. Don't remember the name of Big Poppas captain but he has great energy. He got a few nice props from the judges. I'm sure we'll see him again. I had never heard of the great Mr. Trigg but he is something else.

I know Big Poppa's team have been doing well in competions. It was nice to see them in action.
Thanks for tuning in. Hope you are having a nice weekend! :)
