Some of my neighbors

I've had visits from a lot of wildlife but haven't had this many turkeys stop by my house at one time before...

I lost count at 40...

Maybe they were walking south for the winter. :)

Now if I were a turkey, I don't think I'd be cruising through peoples yards this time of the year. Especially someone who likes to smoke all kinds of different goodies. Dumb turkeys, any of them end up in your smoker Jeanie?

That's what I was thinking too A Year on the Grill. :)

Chris, I was sooooo tempted! lol

Rocco, I thought about it for a long time, then my dogs chased them out of the yard. I guess it's a good thing. :)

lol Mark, they didn't end up in my smoker. Maybe I should have taken one or two...I was busy with other things and stood there debating whether I wanted to clean birds or not... then they were gone. Maybe next time I see them I won't be so busy... :)

Gee whiz, most I ever saw here on my place was 8 and you had 40+. You could have shot into that flock with one shot and cleaned up. The ones you didn't hit would probably either have a heart attack or fly into one another and break their neck. But when I go for turkey I am old fashioned and use a bow. I really hate picking shot out. And with Christmas just a few days away, what were these birds thinking. Hey maybe they were waiting for ya to get the drum going and were gonna just take turns jumping on up there.

Before I moved out to the country, I lived in a sub division right next to a 4H project barn. One afternoon I was headed out of the house to a client and there were about 20 tame turkeys in my front yard. I got a rain coat out of the truck and proceeded to herd them back to the break in the fence they came out of about 2 blocks away. A few of the neighbors snapped pictures of the crazy cowboy herding turkeys.
