Fried Hominy

Another favorite side dish while camping or even at home cooking on the grill.
I like hominy, but the flavor is a bit bland for me. I like to spice it up.

Start by frying a few slices of bacon until crisp...




Saute chopped green onions in the bacon drippings until tender...




Add 2 cans of drained hominy and some red pepper flakes ....






I let this cook until the moisture is absorbed and the hominy starts to lightly brown....

Add your crumbled bacon back into the pan and season with cracked black pepper and salt.






I like to add a bit of butter right before serving...

My wife says she doesn't like hominy, but I've just served it to her straight out of the can like my Mama did. Tonight I going to try your receipe. Thanks!

You can kick up the heat as high as you like with the red pepper flakes.
